Nation’s No. 1 2027 Recruit Jalen Brewster Is Transferring to Defending Champion Buford

Five-star defensive lineman Jalen Brewster announced Saturday night that he is transferring from Cedar Hill High School in Texas to the Buford Wolves in Georgia for his senior season. The move gives the defending Class 6A state and national champions another substantial piece for their title defense. Rivals ranks Brewster as the No. 1 overall player in the Class of 2027, while 247Sports has him No. 4 nationally.

Just hours before Brewster’s announcement, Buford had beaten another in-state powerhouse, Gainesville, 39-19 on ESPN2 with a defensive front that Buford coach Bryant Appling admitted isn’t built like last year’s team. The Wolves graduated their top seven tacklers from a defense that helped carry them to a 15-0 season, and four freshmen saw time on the defensive line Saturday…
