Fort Worth’s rib-obsessed Ribbee’s is serving its last racks this Sunday, as pitmaster-owner Jonny White prepares to swap Seminary Drive for a Texas-style barbecue counter in Brooklyn.
White confirmed that the Fort Worth storefront will close at the end of the week and said the building’s new owner plans to put in a different restaurant. Ribbee’s will pause service while that handoff happens, a move framed as a shutdown “for now” in coverage by The Dallas Morning News.
Owner Heads To Brooklyn
White is teaming up with Chuck Charnichart of Barbs B Q to launch Kirbee’s in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, a compact, lunch-focused spot that will spotlight both pitmasters’ versions of Texas barbecue, according to Eater New York. Eater also reports that White sold his ownership stake in Goldee’s late last year as he shifted his attention to the New York project.

Ribbee’s opened in 2024 as a ribs-and-fries counter run by members of the Goldee’s crew, operating out of a converted Sonic with a menu centered on baby-back and beef ribs.
