A jury Wednesday found an Asheville woman guilty of forging deeds and illegally obtaining two Buncombe County properties that were flipped for a profit of nearly $140,000.
The jury deliberated seven hours over three days before convicting Lisa Roberts-Allen on eight of 10 charges: two counts of obtaining property by false pretenses and six counts of forging a deed. She was found not guilty of two counts of conspiracy to obtain property by false pretenses.
Special Superior Court Judge Steve Warren sentenced her to 6 1/4 to 8 1/2 years in prison followed by two years of supervised probation. He also ordered her to pay $55,000 in restitution to Richard Helbig, one of her victims…
