Round Rock just got a new favorite table. Frank and Margie’s — a chef-driven Italian-American neighborhood restaurant from the Michelin-starred team behind Scratch Restaurants Group — is now open on the I-35 frontage road, and it’s bringing serious culinary firepower to a relaxed, come-as-you-are space.
Who’s behind it
Frank and Margie’s is named for the husband-and-wife chefs and owners who built it: Phillip Frankland Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee. If those names sound familiar, it’s because their Scratch Restaurants Group is behind some of the most talked-about restaurants in the country — Michelin-starred Pasta|Bar, Sushi by Scratch Restaurants, Shokunin, and NADC Burger.
The group has built its reputation on intimate, chef-driven restaurants rooted in precision, creativity, and a fully from-scratch approach. Frank and Margie’s brings that same point of view to a more relaxed neighborhood format — right here in Round Rock.
What’s on the menu
This is Italian-American comfort food, done the Scratch way. Check the full dinner menu and drink menu, but expect:
- Thin-crust pizzas
- Handmade pastas
- Scratch-made mozzarella
- Seasonal salads
- Secondi (mains)
- Desserts from Executive Pastry Chef Margarita Kallas-Lee
- Cocktails and Italian wine
The vibe? Casual in spirit, serious about the food. As they put it: come as you are. It’s the kind of place built to be a regular spot, not a once-a-year occasion.
