Birmingham police investigating fatal Fourth of July shooting in East Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Birmingham police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in East Birmingham, marking the city’s 25th homicide investigation of 2026.

According to the Birmingham Police Department, officers were dispatched shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday, July 4, to the 100 block of 69th Place North after receiving reports of shots fired inside a residence.
