ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A two-vehicle collision at a local intersection left one driver dead and another injured early Thursday morning.
The crash happened at 1:37 a.m. at the intersection of 5th Avenue North and Lafayette Street North. Police reports indicate that a pick-up truck was traveling eastbound on 5th Avenue North when it crossed over the center line into the westbound lane, colliding head-on with an oncoming van.
The driver of the pick-up truck, identified as 72-year-old Charles Peter Caravana, died from his injuries at the scene of the crash. Officials confirmed that his next of kin have been notified…
