The ex-wife of convicted Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann revealed that he confessed to the murder an eighth woman in a private meeting with her before formally pleading guilty in court earlier this month.
Speaking in an interview for the documentary-style program “The Gilgo Beach Killer: House of Secrets,” Asa Ellerup described speaking with her ex-husband in a one-on-one meeting. “I understand that you are confessing to me these murders, can you please tell me how many of these women did you kill?” she recalled asking Heuermann. “He said eight.”
Heuermann, 62, in early April entered guilty pleas on three counts of first-degree murder and four counts of intentional murder in the killings of seven women between 1993 and 2010. And he admitted to killing an eighth woman, Karen Vergata, in 1996…
