MARENGO — Residents voiced their objections to a proposed city ordinance governing electric bikes and electric scooters during a Marengo City Council meeting Aug. 12.
The City Council approved the first reading of the ordinance and reminded residents the council will have to pass second and third readings before the ordinance goes into effect. Public hearings will precede each vote.
The council can make changes to the ordinance during the process. The next public hearing for the ordinance is planned for the next city council meeting, Wednesday, Aug. 26 at 6 p.m…
