FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio are in for a hot, humid, and stormy start to the week.
Monday: Heat Index in the Upper 80s, Severe Storm Risk
Monday will feel like summer as heat indices climb into the upper 80s during the afternoon hours. Highs will reach 86 degrees with thick humidity making it feel even warmer. A southerly breeze will gust up to 30 mph throughout the day, adding to the unsettled feel.
Clouds will increase as the day progresses, with storm chances picking up during the late afternoon and evening. The Storm Prediction Center has placed the region in a Level 2 (Slight) Risk for severe weather. A line of strong to severe storms is expected to move into the area with strong winds being the main risk.
Tuesday: Another Round of Storms
The severe weather chance doesn’t end Monday night. Tuesday brings another opportunity for a few strong to severe storms, with the Storm Prediction Center again issuing a Level 2 (Slight) Risk for the region.
