Man arrested on three warrants for deceptive business practice

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 65-year-old man was arrested on three counts of deceptive business practices after allegedly taking an initial payment and not completing agreed-upon work, according to a news release by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

Humberto Camarillo was arrested on three warrants for deceptive business practices and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with a $10,000 bond. He was released on Monday, Sept. 1, after posting bond, according to jail records.

The investigation began after a victim reported hiring Camarillo to perform remodeling work at a residence.

After receiving an initial payment, Camarillo allegedly requested additional money from the victim. He later allegedly stopped responding to calls and messages, and the agreed-upon work was not completed, according to the Sheriff’s Office…
