IOWA — Multiple serious crashes were reported by the Iowa State Patrol over Memorial Day weekend.
Just before 10:00 Sunday night, the ISP responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 163 and Prairie Avenue southeast of Prairie City in Jasper County. According to a crash report, a Chevrolet Impala, driven by a 19-year-old man, was on Prairie Ave. when he entered Highway 163 to cross, but struck a Subaru Outback driven by a 22-year-old woman. Both vehicles crashed into the median just west of the intersection.
Serious injuries reported in Polk County motorcycle crash
The crash report states that the 19-year-old was transported via air ambulance to a Des Moines hospital but was later air-lifted to the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics. The 22-year-old was also injured, but was transported to a hospital via private vehicle.
Also on Sunday, two people were killed when a UTV rolled near Calamus in Clinton County. The victims’ names have not been released…
