A Wildwood man was arrested after a K-9 sniffed out meth in his backpack during a traffic stop.
An officer spotted 47-year-old John Terrell Jackson riding a bicycle without a rear light on Dr Martin Luther King Jr Avenue at 10:10 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.
He was subsequently stopped near Ed Lynum Street, where he appeared nervous, struggled to keep eye contact and repeatedly denied having anything on his person. The officer advised that he would be using K-9 to check for narcotics, to which Jackson stated he did not consent to a search of his backpack. However, after a positive alert from the K-9, his consent was not needed, the report said.
The backpack contained a black speaker case with two clear burnt pipes and a small baggie with white powdery residue. The latter tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed 0.41 grams, the report said…
