6.7k lose power in large Guilford County outage

GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A little over 6,700 people were without power in Guilford County as a result of a massive power outage, according to a Duke Energy outage map.

The outage appeared to be impacting parts of Greensboro, Jamestown and High Point. Major areas impacted by the outage included parts of Wendover Avenue, Piedmont Parkway, Hilltop Road, Tarrant Road, Guilford College Road and NC 68.

As of 11:15 a.m., Duke Energy reported 95 total outages and 6,749 people were without power in the area, with 99 active outages.

Some traffic lights in the impacted area were also not working as a result of the outage…
