Flooding forces Huntsville animal hospital to close; horses safe and secure

MADISON COUNTY, Ala — Severe flooding triggered by heavy rainfall across North Alabama made for tense hours at a local animal hospital Sunday.

Winchester Road Animal Hospital announced it would remain closed until floodwaters recede and operations can safely resume. The hospital said those with scheduled appointments would be contacted to reschedule and that animals in its care had been transferred to Chase Animal Hospital in the interim.

The hospital also addressed concerns about horses kept on the property, saying the animals are safe and that a relocation plan is in place if conditions worsen. Staff reported that water levels had begun to fall as of late Sunday afternoon…
