Governor Kim Reynolds Expands Tourism with Bill Signed at Lake Ahquabi

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds signed Executive Order 19 establishing the Office of Outdoor Recreation at Warren County’s Lake Ahquabi earlier this week. State Tourism Manager Amy Zeigler says the executive order signed by Governor Reynolds will collaborate different statewide departments in a more sufficient way.

“The purpose is to create a more centralized structure for some of those public and private outdoor recreational stakeholders to work together around strategy and development of outdoor recreation in Iowa. We know there’s already a ton of great stuff happening around the state and outdoor recreation whether it’s with the Iowa DNR, our Iowa county parks and conservation systems, other non-profits and organizations. Really, our goal is to create a place to align all of those efforts.
