KINGSTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Ulster County District Attorney’s Office announced on Monday that two men were arraigned on an indictment connected to the 2019 death of Daniel “DJ” Thomas in Kingston. Wilbur Reese, 55, of Monticello, and Dushan Wilson, 37, of Albany, were both arrested back in May.
The indictment against Reese and Wilson alleges that the two worked together to lure DJ Thomas out of his home on Prospect Street in Kingston before reportedly shooting him in the face on October 24, 2019. The two were identified as suspects and taken into custody over six and half years later following an investigation conducted by Kingston Police and New York State Police.
“I know the dedication invested in the case by Detective Vincent Laspina of the Kingston Police Department. I know the resources committed to the investigation by the KPD and State Police, as well as the work it took to review and analyze the evidence and identify the perpetrators to put this case together,” Ulster County District Attorney Emmanuel Nneji stated. “I am grateful to the men and women who dedicate themselves to bring peace of mind, in this and other cases, especially gun violence, for the sake of our public safety.”…
