Free, discounted summer movie series throughout the Capital Region

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Summer vacation is almost here for families across the Capital Region! What better way to keep the kiddos entertained than a free or discounted movie?

NEWS10 has rounded up all of the free or discounted movies series that are set to take place across the Capital Region this summer. Take a look below for each family-friendly program.

Movies Under the Stars in Albany

Love Albany has kicked off its free, family-friendly film series, Movies Under the Stars. The program features a movie once a month at parks across the city, as well as free popcorn and other family-friendly activities like lawn games and a bounce house.

Each event begins at 7:30 p.m., with the selected film starting at sunset. Take a look below for the rest of this summer’s schedule:

  • June 19, Swinburne Park — “GOAT”
  • July 17, Lincoln Park — “A Minecraft Movie”
  • August 21, Ridgefield Park — “Hoppers”

Palace Theatre’s Summer in the City series

The Palace Theatre in Albany will host its annual Summer in the City series beginning in July. All tickets are free and kids under the age of 12 will be able to get a free box of popcorn.

The Palace Theatre is located at 19 Clinton Avenue. You can register for Summer in the City Free Movie Series tickets at the Palace’s box office or online through the venue’s website.

Regal Cinemas’ Summer Movie Express

Regal Cinemas theaters across the Capital Region will be offering $1 tickets to select family-friendly films throughout the summer as part of their annual Summer Movie Express series. A portion of the proceeds are going to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America…
