TAMPA, Fla. (KTAL/KMSS) – Five Louisiana veterans will head to Tampa, Florida, to participate in the National Veterans Golden Age Games (NVGAG), which runs from June 27-July 2.
The participants include:
- Cynthia Battle, 58, of Minden – Air Force
- Michael Brooks, 72, of Doyline – Air Force
- Jackie Perry, 67, of Bossier City – Air Force
- Johnny Ray Turner, 71, of Monroe – Air Force
- Leonard L. White, 71, of Gary – Navy
The five-day event will focus on “Fitness For Life” and feature several events and sports activities, including basketball and golf. Over 1,000 veterans from across the country are expected to participate, with over 1,300 volunteers and sponsors.
