WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The Kansas Department of Transportation shared on Monday that drivers are about to see one-day ramp and lane closures on two Wichita highways.
Starting Saturday at 4 a.m. and ending late Saturday evening, there will be closures on K-96 and I-135. The closures are part of Phase 2B of the North Junction Gold Project.
These ramps and lanes will be affected:
- Westbound K-96 ramp to southbound I-135 (closed for overhang bracket installation)
- Southbound I-135/235 ramp to eastbound K-96 (closed for barrier wall relocation)
- Eastbound K-96 from Hydraulic Avenue to Oliver Street will be reduced to one lane (reduced for barrier wall reset)
- Southbound I-135 from 29th Street to 21st Street will be reduced to one lane (reduced for barrier wall reset)
Those driving from southbound I-135/235 to eastbound K-96 should exit at Hydraulic Avenue, head north and use the entrance ramp to eastbound K-96…
