LONE TREE, Iowa — A Lone Tree man admitted to killing his father, online court records say.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says they found Richard Powers, 76, of Lone Tree, dead while conducting a welfare check at 217 West Elm Street in Lone Tree.
His son, Scott Powers, 52, was arrested in Cedar Rapids. Scott is charged with first-degree murder and is currently being treated at UIHC. He will then be taken to Johnson County Jail…
