CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA — Cedar Rapids’ own Lady Liberty is back on display after months of repairs, returning with fresh details and a renewed appreciation for a symbol that has stood in the city for decades.
The Statue of Liberty replica is part of a Boy Scouts of America campaign from 75 years ago that placed 200 replicas in cities across the country. Cedar Rapids’ statue was first installed at Greene Square in 1950.
