A New Bar & Restaurant Will Have Its Grand Opening in Cedar Rapids This Weekend

A new business has taken over Jerseys Pub & Grub at 5761 C St SW in Cedar Rapids! Rip’s Bar & Grill will host its grand opening celebration this weekend.

About Rip’s

According to the website, Rip’s Bar & Grill is named after owner Traci “Rip” Ripperda, a NE Iowa native that grew up working at The Trophy Case, her family’s sports bar. She and her husband Tyrone “Ty” Schwieger, who is a football coach at Prairie High School, now live in Cedar Rapids with their two sons Max and Ace. The site’s ‘About Us’ section  reads:

“As the southwest side of Cedar Rapids continues to grow, Rip and Ty saw the perfect opportunity to combine their passion for great food, cold beer, sports, and bringing people together. Opening Rip’s Bar & Grill is the realization of a lifelong dream—a welcoming, family-friendly sports bar where friends, neighbors, and fellow fans can gather to enjoy great meals, catch the game, and make lasting memories.”

In addition to serving food and beverages, Rip’s will also feature sports on their multiple TV screens, host Tuesday trivia nights, and have live entertainment on weekends.
