State Road 60 between Bartow and Lake Wales has reopened to all traffic ahead of schedule, the Florida Department of Transportation reported.
Crews closed the road in both directions on July 25 to allow a replacement of the CSX railroad tracks that cross the road about three miles west of U.S. 27. The work was originally projected to conclude on Aug. 10, but crews finished work six days ahead of schedule, FDOT said in a news release.
The original reopening date would have been one day before the start of the school year in Polk County…
