Shane Steven Benton, a 33-year-old husband and father from West St. Paul, Minnesota, died unexpectedly on August 1, 2026, leaving behind his wife Holly and their four-year-old triplet daughters, Rory, Agnes, and Nikkō.
Benton was born on December 13, 1992, in Fargo, North Dakota, and moved with his family to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, when he was two years old. He grew up in Cedar Rapids and graduated from Linn-Mar High School in 2011.
He went on to attend the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks on a basketball scholarship, graduating in 2015. It was during his college years that he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a condition he lived with for the rest of his life…
