Scottish rockers Franz Ferdinand have been a staple of alt-rock radio for more than 20 years. The band made its first stop in Albany on Tuesday, hitting a sold-out Empire Live and delivering a 90-minute set of hits and fan favorites.
Franz Ferdinand plays a highly danceable form of post-punk, and that aesthetic, paired with the band’s propulsive on-stage energy, made for a helluva good time. “Walk Away” and “Do You Want To,” with their disco-ish beats and crunchy riffs, had much of the 1,000 in attendance singing and dancing along.
