Rayne couple arrested after 3 children, including newborn, test positive for drugs

RAYNE, La. (NEWS 15) — A Rayne couple was arrested after an investigation in which three children, including a newborn, were removed from a home and tested positive for fentanyl and other illegal narcotics, according to the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Drake Doucet, 27, and Jamie Lopez, 35, both of Rayne, are charged with three counts of second-degree cruelty to juveniles. Doucet faces an additional charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies reported the investigation began after one of the suspects was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia in the presence of minor children during a Department of Children and Family Services follow-up investigation…
