ALBANY — Police arrested and charged a 20-year-old Albany man with attempted murder after a car plunged into the Hudson River on Sunday near the city boat launch on Quay Street.
City police said the car went into the river after the man, Ahmed H. Hemedan, tried to strangle his sister and caused her to drive into the water. After they climbed out of the vehicle, he tried to drown her, police said in a news release.
Two witnesses described seeing a woman physically struggling with a man who had been in the car with her. They helped pull her to safety, and another civilian gave her CPR prior to the arrival of first responders…
