TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — New York State Police arrested a man in Albany on August 6 for allegedly stealing a vehicle in Brunswick and ditching it in Albany. Troopers said Emmanuel Johnson, 23, of Albany, is facing a charge of third-degree grand larceny.

Authorities responded to Hoosick Road at 3:22 p.m. on August 5 regarding a vehicle reported stolen. Police said an investigation found that Johnson allegedly got into the car while it was unoccupied in a parking lot and drove off.
Later in the afternoon, law enforcement found the empty car on Lincoln Avenue in Albany around 4:45 p.m. Troopers arrested Johnson in Troy with assistance from the Rensselaer County Department of Probation and the East Greenbush Police Department.

After being processed at the New York State Police barracks in Brunswick, Johnson was arraigned in Brunswick Town Court. He remains in Rensselaer County Jail with bail set at $25,000 cash, $50,000 bond, or a $100,000 partially secured bond.
