Police spike tires of reported stolen vehicle; driver arrested after crash

ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis man is facing charges for leading police on a chase Monday from city streets and onto Interstate 64.

Officers received information about a stolen vehicle driven by Jonathan R. Raiford, 39. With the help of Metro Air Support, police on the ground located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop.

According to a probable cause statement from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, Raiford refused to pull over and sped off. Spike strips were deployed at North Grand Boulevard and Cook Avenue, but Raiford continued onto Delmar Blvd. and blew though stop signs and red lights…
