Six Auto Thefts, Two Robberies and Multiple Aggravated Assaults Included in August 19th Crime Summary

The Montgomery County Police Department shared an overview of reported calls for service from August 19. The summary does not reflect every call handled by officers that day.

In the 1st District, which includes Rockville and Potomac, three vehicles were reported stolen. The thefts occurred in the 300 block of Baltimore Rd, the 200 block of Congressional Ln and the 400 block of New Mark Esplanade. Police also reported an attempted commercial burglary around 3:47am Thursday in the 700 block of Rockville Pike. A suspect broke the front glass door of a store with a hard object but did not enter.

In the 2nd District, which includes Bethesda, Chevy Chase and parts of North Bethesda, police reported a robbery around 3:21pm in the 11500 block of Rockville Pike. Suspects surrounded a person and took his property. An aggravated assault was also reported around 10:34pm in the 11900 block of Parklawn Pl, where a suspect allegedly pointed a gun at someone before leaving the area…
