DENVER (KDVR) — The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to help as they investigate a disturbing animal cruelty case that occurred over two nights earlier in August.
According to a post, the case stems from Aug. 10 and 11, when two horses on a property in the 12000 block of Flagg Drive were shot with a pellet gun. One of the horses was shot once, while the other was shot about 36 times.

Both horses were injured but are expected to survive; however, officials said no neighbors reported hearing anything and that no security cameras captured any footage.
Officials are asking the community to think back:
- If they noticed anything unusual on Aug. 10 or Aug. 11
- Any similar incidents
- Any suspicious vehicles or activity
