Bayonne firefighters rescue dog from short-lived residential fire on Avenue C

Bayonne firefighters rescued a dog from a short-lived residential fire on Avenue C on Wednesday afternoon, with no injuries or displacements reported, according to Acting Chief Frank Pawlowski.

At approximately 2:42 p.m. today, the Bayonne Fire Department responded to 387 Avenue C, between 16th and 17th Streets, for a reported structure fire, Pawlowski said in a statement.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered an active fire in the basement of a multi-family residential building. They quickly located and extinguished the fire, bringing the incident under control at approximately 3:04 p.m.

There were no reported injuries, and no residents were displaced as a result of the fire. During operations, Bayonne firefighters also successfully rescued one dog from the building…
