Gusty thunderstorms are making their way through the D.C. region Wednesday as another stretch of late-summer heat and humidity settles over the area.
The National Weather Service said there is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms across much of the region through Wednesday night, with damaging wind gusts as the primary threat. Storms could continue into the overnight hours.
