ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Complaints are piling up from frustrated Albuquerque homeowners over fiber internet companies destroying their properties. It’s a problem the City of Albuquerque has dealt with for months, and they want to remind residents that the work is not done by city workers.

It was a shock for Northeast Heights homeowner Gloria when she saw people digging massive holes in her backyard. “Each one of the holes, it was actually the size that a man could be inside there,” said Gloria.
Those holes came from contractors with fiber internet companies. The city’s broadband program said they received whopping 190 complaints through 311, just in August. “This is activity that residents are reporting about crews digging in yards without permission, trespassing, yelling at our residents, lying to our residents about what they’re going to do in their backyard, leaving multiple holes on private property, demanding access to property,” said Catherine Nicolaou, the city’s Broadband Program Manager…
