Teen hospitalized with head injuries after I-96 crash in Kent County

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A teenager was hospitalized after a crash in Kent County on Monday.

The crash happened just before 5:45 p.m. on I-96 near Morse Lake Road, according to the Michigan State Police (MSP) Grand Rapids Post.

A preliminary investigation indicates a white Honda Civic was traveling eastbound at high speeds when it crossed the median, drove through cable barriers, and entered the westbound lanes when it struck a Toyota Tacoma.

The 17-year-old driver of the Honda, from Grand Rapids, was transported to a hospital with head injuries.
