Aurora’s second annual Oktoberfest is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Phillips Park Main Pavilion on Ray Moses Drive after organizers postponed the original date because of a forecast that included intermittent rain and possible localized flooding, the Aurora Beacon-News reported. The family-oriented event is planned with food, music and activities.
Admission is listed at $7.18, according to EnjoyAurora.com. The program is expected to include bratwurst, German beer, live music, children’s activities, face painting and a dirndl-and-lederhosen costume contest.
A fundraiser tied to Phillips Park
Proceeds are designated for the Kiwanis Club of Aurora, the Auroraland German Heritage Society and the Phillips Park Foundation, according to the Beacon-News. The available event information does not specify how much money organizers expect to raise or how the proceeds will be divided.
