ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department said a once-security guard, who has been in trouble for attacking homeless people, has caused fear again in the city. Now, Martin Sandoval is back behind bars, accused of threatening to shoot people at a park while wearing tactical gear.

This time, APD got a call from a tow truck driver, who was sitting in his truck with his girlfriend at Tower Park last month, waiting for a tow call. They noticed someone pointing a laser at them, so the driver walked across the street to investigate. That’s where investigators said he encountered Martin Sandoval, wearing full tactical gear, carrying a rifle with a laser sight, along with a handgun and a knife. According to a criminal complaint, Sandoval hit the tow truck driver over the head, threatened to shoot and stab him, and used racial slurs.
