NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Inches of rain have fallen across much of New Mexico since Tuesday, and the state continues to remain under elevated flood risk into the rest of the week.

The City of Albuquerque said that while they haven’t seen significant damage from the rain, crews are still getting dispatched hour after hour to deal with flooded streets. “We’re trying to pump out this road, which is Lamonica by Walmart on Rio Bravo. Usually, we have quite a bit of water that builds up in here. Usually, we’ll be here for up to 10 to 12 hours just pumping it out trying to get it clear,” said CABQ Storm Maintenance Supervisor Kevin Sanchez.
The city’s Department of Municipal Development said it’s continuing to respond to flooded intersections and roads with vacuum trucks and hydraulic pumps. Some of the hot spots crews are seeing problems include the North Valley, the Southwest Mesa, and around Rio Bravo and Isleta.
The city closed Lamonica at Rio Bravo because of flooding, and that could continue into Thursday…
