Roswell Park tests new pill that shows promise for advanced pancreatic cancer

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A new treatment being tested at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is offering hope for patients with advanced pancreatic cancer, as early research shows a pill-based therapy may significantly improve survival rates compared to standard chemotherapy.

Roswell Park says the early results of this research has helped patients who take this pill live nearly twice as long as those who receive standard chemotherapy alone. Over 500 patients from around the world took part in this study, including some here in Western New York.
