New Harrisburg police contract boosts pay to attract new officers

Harrisburg City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved a new police contract that will significantly raise wages for incoming officers.

The new salaries will increase officer pay by 7% each year for three years, doubling the previous annual rate of 3.5%.

Patrol officers in their fifth year of employment would make $80,225 in 2026, $85,872 in 2027 and $91,884 in 2028…
