Dennis Bassett announced he was stepping down as chairman of the Western Regional Off-Track Betting Corporation (WROTB) Board of Directors, effective Friday, citing health reasons.
“It has been truly an honor to work as the chairman of the board here at WROTB. I have worked hard. I’ve worked enthusiastically and I’ve worked with a great deal of passion for an organization that I have a great deal of respect for. I’d like to say that circumstances around my health and the journey that I have before me …” he said at today’s board meeting. After a long pause, he continued, “… regrettably leaves me no choice, but to resign the position of chairman of the board.”
