Public input hearings to be held on future of unused RCSD buildings

Rochester residents will have a chance to voice their opinion on what they want to see done with some of the unused Rochester City School District buildings.

Rochester City Council will host a pair of public meetings as the proposed sale of School No. 20 is on the table. The intention is to house the Young Women’s College Prep school. The charter school is currently operating on Hoover Drive in Greece, and would relocate to School No. 20 at Oakman Street and Schauman Place if the sale goes through.

“Since school buildings play a large role in city neighborhoods, I am encouraging city residents to play a larger role in council’s decision-making process by telling us how these plans for reuse will impact them, their families and their neighbors,” councilmember Michael Patterson said in a statement…
