On Wednesday at 6:45 p.m., Clinton Police responded to the 300 block of East Green Street to assist Johnson County Sheriff’s Office with conducting an arrest of a suspect regarding an armed robbery that occurred at a convenience store southeast of Warrensburg earlier in the day.
The suspect was seen on surveillance camera entering the Corner Store gas station at 424 SE County Road DD (southeast of Warrensburg), brandishing a handgun.
The suspect stole an undisclosed amount of currency from the store and then fled the area on foot.
The suspect was identified by photos obtained from the store’s security footage as 18-year-old Maddex Mount of Clinton. Flock cameras observed Mount’s vehicle entering Clinton city limits on North 13 Highway.
At 10:02 p.m., Clinton Officers assisted Johnson County in obtaining and executing a search warrant in the 300 block of East Green Street where items associated with the armed robbery were located and taken as evidence.

Mount was taken into custody and transported to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office where he was placed on a 24-hour investigative hold at 10:51 p.m. with no bond…
