Homewood High School Fined, Placed on Probation by AHSAA for Violating Video Rule

Homewood (Ala.) High School has been fined and placed on probation by the Alabama High School Athletics Association after the school self-reported a violation of the AHSAA video rule.

According to WBRC, AHSAA Contest Rules Section 23 stipulates that “A school or anyone representing the school may not video tape, record, internet stream, nor film any contest in which it is not involved unless it has received permission from both participating schools. No outside group or individual may video tape or film any contest without permission from all participating schools.”

Homewood High School reported to the AHSAA that a representative of the school recorded part of the Fort Payne vs. Mortimer Jordan baseball playoff series without obtaining permission from either school…
