TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister announced Friday morning that the remains discovered in the water near the Howard Frankland Bridge were positively identified as Nahida Bristy on Thursday, April 30.
Her body was discovered in a trash bag on Sunday, but was in an advanced state of decomposition, which is why it took nearly a week to get a positive identification. Similar to Limon, HCSO said Bristy had multiple stab wounds.

Chronister said the remains were discovered by kayakers who were fishing on the Pinellas County side of the Howard Frankland Bridge. He said one of their lines got caught on the trash bag, and as they got closer to investigate, noticed a strange smell and saw what they believed were human remains.
At that point, the kayakers called law enforcement to inform them of the discovery.
Court documents filed earlier this week said the body found south of the Howard Frankland Bridge was clothed in similar attire to what Bristy was wearing when she was last seen on surveillance video…
