Raffensperger pitches property tax cuts, school choice in governor’s race

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger is running for governor with a focus on affordability and property tax cuts.

Raffensperger said he wants to cut property taxes and eliminate taxes on retirement benefits in Georgia, which is one of 14 states that still taxes retirement income.

“Number one, cut property taxes. We will have sessions starting — that’s the first thing we can do. Then eliminate taxes for all retirement benefits in the state of Georgia,” Raffensperger said. “We are only one of 14 states to do that, and that’s really important — that we eliminate the income taxes for retirement benefits.”
