A late-night lawnmower repair on Ben Hill Road turned deadly when a gunman in a passing car opened fire, killing Amondre Michael Zepeda and leaving East Point police hunting for whoever pulled the trigger.
Investigators say Zepeda was helping a friend fix a lawnmower at 2186 Ben Hill Rd in East Point on April 13 when someone in a dark-colored sedan drove by and started shooting. Officers found him at the scene and rushed him to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Police say the shooter and anyone else inside the vehicle have not been identified, and the manhunt is still underway.

According to FOX 5 Atlanta, citing a public report from the East Point Police Department, the shooting happened at about 10:53 p.m. Detectives told the outlet they are combing through surveillance footage and talking with witnesses but have not yet identified the shooter or any other occupants of the dark-colored sedan.
