COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The Columbus Dream Center is opening their doors to those in need on Saturday, May 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. located at 4114 Oates Ave.
Columbus Dream Center officials say their intention is to address the food insecurity issue in Columbus which remains an ongoing issue.
Studies show that 51% of working adults in families with incomes below 200% of the federal poverty level have reported to experiencing food insecurity in 2025. Columbus Dream Center says their goal is to dedicate themselves to restoring hope to the community of Columbus.
The non-profit organization serves several populations including:
- Alabama residents
- Disabled
- Displaced
- Georgia residents
- Low income
- Unemployed
- Veterans
The center offers a variety of free resources including but not limited to:
- Clothes
- Groceries
- Hair Care
- Hygiene kits
- Meals
The Columbus Dream Center says they are accepting donations including non-perishable food items, clothing items and financial donations. Officials emphasize their message: “Your generosity is changing our city one person at a time.”…
