Man accused of threatening neighbor with shotgun after horse shot, killed near Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A man is accused of threatening his neighbor with a shotgun after a horse was shot and killed near Lincoln on Saturday.

According to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were sent to the area of Southwest 12th and West Burnham streets on the report of a possible animal abuse incident involving a horse as well as a disturbance with a firearm at around 9:45 a.m.

LSO said deputies arrived to find a dead horse with a head injury. The horse had given partial birth to a colt, which was also dead. The injury is still under investigation, and a necropsy has been scheduled. LSO said it is too early to speculate on the horse’s injuries…
