An open letter to Mayor Wanda Williams and Gov. Josh Shapiro | PennLive letters

With the upcoming celebration of our nation’s 250th anniversary of independence, I’m certain that both Mayor Wanda Williams and Gov. Josh Shapiro are busy preparing our capital city for this once in a lifetime national celebration. There has been some evidence of state and city pride seen within parts of our city. But I certainly hope that there will be more demonstrated by the removal of graffiti, which seems to be appearing more and more in our downtown area.

I have been assured by some of my neighbors that it will certainly be addressed. However, I have yet to see proof of that.

As a longtime citizen and resident of downtown Harrisburg, I am eager to see more of an effort being made by both the mayor of Harrisburg and the governor of our otherwise beautiful capitol city. We have one of the most beautiful State Capitols in our nation. We are blessed with a picturesque Riverfront Park and Italian Lake. But these venues require constant maintenance and attention, and they seem to get that…
